Feast of Blades Army List - What to do what to do?!

I am torn between several list.  I have had really good success with my all jump BA/SW combo posted below but I think some hot rolling on my part may have contributed to the 'size' of the win I had.  I also learned how dangerous it is for a single Assault Troop member to charge an inquisitor henchman squad with three melta guns!  Oops.

I basically make two or three lists a week that I consider packing on a plane and taking across the country.  This is one that I have been somewhat excited about and am looking forward to testing next week.

I struggle with finding lists that are both portable and competitive enough to win national tournaments.  I really enjoy playing different armies so most of the time this isn't a real issue.  I am sort of 'over' playing grey knights so I am floating back and forth between Blood Angels and Imperial Guard.

Fifth Edition 40k is finally over and the last major tournament to feature it was the American Team Championship hosted by DiceHead Games in Cleaveland, TN.

Magnets.. how do they work?? 6th Edition Wound Allocation

My club mates have been discussing how wound allocation works in 6th edition.  A couple of my buddies summed it up very nicely so I thought I would post it here to help get the word out.

I am still not completely sure how I feel about the new rules. I feel GW is really trying to give people the notion that they are getting 'more' out of their toys by giving every model extra abilities.  I have absolutely NO issue with that.  My issue is that there seem to be a feel areas of needless complexity and I think we are all tired of Warhammer 40k having complexity..  See what I did there? :)

Adepticon Aftermath

I am now almost fully recovered from the Adepticon weekend.  As always I had a blast and it was great to see some of the people I only get to see a few times a year.

Time for Adepticon!

It is time for Adepticon again.  My team and I are going back for what is hopefully a repeat performance from last year.  We won the team tournament and to date no one has gone back to back.  Maybe we can be the first!

Welcome to the new Dark Ages... everything old is new again

After a lot of playtesting this weekend and going to a tournament fielding 10 paladins and Draigo I started to think about how BA could adapt to continue to slug it out at the top.

Imperial Armor Apoc II is legal in a few tournaments.. Now what?

Good question.
A buddy of mine asked me what list I would build for a tournament that allowed these units and below is what I came up with.

WAR Games Con! Do it!!

WAR Games Con is the most competition friendly tournament currently running in the US.  It boasts an impressive 7 game format and uses the battle point system.

This means that rounds are calculated like most RTTs that you're used to but points are accumulated over the course of SEVEN GAMES!!!!  This takes a lot of pressure off of each game allowing for a little wiggle room if you are not used to playing in a strange land or maybe had a little too much Adeptus Sauce the night before. 

That isn't to say that peak play won't be rewarded by getting to spend the entire tournament on the top tables.

Seriously... this tournament is run by gamers for gamers and is every bit at the top of the heap alongside Adepticon (which I also highly endorse).

No matter where you are in the country it is worth the trip to Austin.

There are tons of events througout the weekend if the 7 game grind isn't for you or if you happen to bomb out on day one. ha!

I'll be competing in the two man team tournament in addition to the singles GT.  Who is with me?!
